Kai Mai is the Chief Operations Officer at Petoi. Prior to that, he was an Advisor at BuzzBreak and BuzzKID. Maihas over 17 years of product/engineering development and management experiences across Silicon Valley and China.

He initially started his career as a software engineer in Silicon Valley building search engine advertising management system, integrated library system and mobile apps.

Then he returned to Shanghai in 2010 for the big opportunity in education technology space in China. He served as the VP of Engineering at ALO7, a B2B2C startup that has built the largest English learning SaaS platform in China serving 5000+ private K12 English language learning institutions that target 3-15 years old Chinese students. He’s part of the ALO7 executive team that grew ALO7 from zero to one, successfully pivoted business model from B2C to B2B2C, grew annual revenue from zero to 100+ million RMB and completed series C and D fundraising totaling 48+ million USD.

As President of CMU Alumni Network – Shanghai Chapter, and the Co-President, Berkeley Chinese Alumni International Association – Shanghai Chapter, and committee member of Berkeley Club of Shanghai, Kai has been actively organizing over 60+ alumni events, mixers and forums in both Shanghai and Silicon Valley.

Mai received his BS degree in EECS(Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) from UC Berkeley and his MS degree in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
