Hank is a technology entrepreneur. First coming to China in 2001 as a consultant for Samsung Electronics, he then ‘paid his tuition’ learning the ropes of running a business in China (an ill-fated web services company), before co-founding ChinesePod in 2005 that he eventually took to a successful exit in 2012. He co-founded another online education company, OpenLanguage Ltd, which is now run by his partner. He also co-founded Magnet Technologies, a proximity social network that uses beacons as a key to that location’s community conversations and other digital artifacts. He’s currently the CEO of Steamoji, a maker academy for kids that trains builders, makers, inventors and entrepreneurs.
