Passionate about expanding the Internet in Asia, via consumer and mobile platforms and services. Broad range of experience including marketing, product management, business development, evangelism and community development in Asia with significant Japan market experience.
In his previous role as Director of Asia Community Engagement at Mozilla, Gen supported the launch of Mozilla’s Firefox OS mobile phone platform in Asia, including India, Bangladesh and the Philippines. Previously, he has supported the launch of Mozilla Japan, Mozilla China, multiple South East Asian Mozilla communities, and held community management, evangelism, business development and marketing roles at Mozilla since 2006.
Previous to Mozilla, Gen was responsible for building Internet services for Sony’s Digital Imaging products in the US and launched Toyota Motor Sales’ ecommerce strategy also in the US. Gen is active with the US-Japan Leadership Program as well as the Asia Society’s Asia 21 Young Leaders’ program. Gen was a mentor with 500 Startups. Gen is a graduate of Dartmouth College.
