Eugene leads the digital practice at JWT Shanghai, advising clients such as Starbucks, HSBC, Mattel and Bayer. Eugene has 14 years experience in the digital marketing industry (10 of them in China), spanning both media and creative agencies. Prior to joining JWT, Eugene helped build GroupM China’s inhouse creative studio, and as General Manager at TBWA\ AGENCY.COM, he won Gold at the China Effies & Digital Media Awards for McDonald’s social media campaign 见面吧. He has also been awarded for his work on Starbucks, Levi’s Denizen, UNICEF, and Chivas Regal.
In 2014 Eugene was recognized by Campaign as a China Digital A-Lister. He also sits on the iMedia Advisory Board and is a regular speaker on the show Thoughtful China, as well as industry events such as Ad:Tech, GMIC and ClickZ. In his spare time, Eugene mentors start-ups and runs an online tea business called Tea Urchin.
