An entrepreneur with a foundation in medical research and health policy, Doug has both a broad and deep network in the healthcare industry. He has been in Beijing for more than 6 years and has worked in the largest hospitals (public, private and military) in China as well as research laboratories (Chinese Academy of Sciences). He currently assists several medical associations in China as well as the Nobel Summit to attract high-level media coverage as well as interesting personnel to their events.
He organized the Digital Health Innovation Event, the first of its kind in China, and lectures at medical universities on how to cultivate innovation. In 2015, he was elected to the UNDP China Innovation Advisory Committee, established to identify high potential projects to fulfill SDG objectives. In 2017, he was elected to the B20 Health Initiative to help elucidate the Chinese healthcare system and has already made policy recommendations to reflect both public and private Chinese companies’ perspectives. Additionally, he has begun working on APEC with Chinese stakeholders and aims to launch the APEC China Health Forum in early 2018.
