Patrick Lee is a serial entrepreneur best known for being a co-founder and former CEO of Rotten Tomatoes (rottentomatoes.com), a leading entertainment website focused on movie reviews and news. He is an advisor to a number of startups including Casetify, ChargeSPOT, Instaread, Kiwibot, Oishii, WePloy, and Zeuss Technologies; and a mentor at a number of organizations including SOSV, Berkeley SkyDeck, Blue Startups, and Founder Institute.
Patrick holds a BA in Cognitive Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Yiying Lu Creator & Artist, "Twitter Fail Whale" & Dumpling 🥟 Emoji
Born in Shanghai China, Educated in Sydney Australia and London UK, currently based in San Francisco, Yiying Lu is an award-winning designer, entrepreneur, educator, and bilingual speaker. She was named one of the Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business and Microsoft’s “Top 10 Emerging Leader in Innovation”.
She is also a sought-after bilingual speaker in both English and Chinese. She specialized in topics of cross-cultural branding, design, and innovation. She has spoken at global conferences such as TEDx, SXSW, Adobe MAX, and Web Summit.
In the last decade, she has created iconic art for global brands like Disney and Microsoft, and built brands for hundreds of tech startups during her time as a creative director at 500 Startups. Yiying is also the artist behind the Dumpling Emoji and the “Twitter Fail Whale”. She was the first international creative collaborator at IDEO.
Yaw Yeo General Manager For International Product And Business, Alibaba Cloud
Former Head of APAC Twillio
As the product and business leader for CDN, Edge Computing, Video and cPaaS under Alibaba Cloud, Yaw leads several product teams to build global products and drive international business growth.
Prior to Alibaba, Yaw was responsible for new market expansion in the Asia-Pacific region for Twilio (NYSE:TWLO). Yaw started working with Twilio as an investor in 2012. He joined Twilio as employee #1 in Asia-Pacific in 2014 and witnessed Twilio’s growth from a startup of 50 employees to a publicly-traded company of 2,500 employees.
Yaw graduated with a B.Sc in Computer Science from Cornell University and M.Sc in Mgmt Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
Patrick Riley CEO, GAN - Global Accelerator Network Managing Partner & Co-Founder, GAN Ventures
Patrick Riley is the CEO at GAN and Managing Partner and Co-Founder of GAN Ventures, a seed-stage venture capital fund. Most recently, he was on the executive team at Techstars, where he oversaw its business development. He started his career working for W.L. Gore and Associates and moved into the leadership of the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C. Patrick left the Red Cross to manage the West Coast sales and operations for a venture-backed healthcare company that had an exit before joining Techstars and GAN. In his spare time, he skis, cycles, travels and spends time with his incredible wife and two daughters.
Cheryl Goh Founding CMO, Grab
Cheryl is part of the early founding team at Grab. Starting in Kuala Lumpur as a one-man marketing team, she has set up the marketing practise across Southeast Asia for Grab over the last six years. Today, she leads marketing in over 300 cities, covering all of Grab’s business verticals including transport, food, payments and logistics. She oversees Grab’s marketing efforts across the region, leading a team of over 500 marketers across Southeast Asia.
In 6 years, Cheryl has built the Grab brand into a household name across Southeast Asia, and played a critical role in the company’s growth and progression from ride-hailing, into the region’s leading superapp. Under her leadership, the marketing team has led the development of demand shaping platforms which drives Grab’s growth using technology and automation. She also manages Grab’s social impact programme and published Grab’s first social impact report earlier this year.
Fritz Demopoulos Co-Founder & Former CEO, Qunar.com (acquired by trip.com)
Fritz Demopoulos has been an entrepreneur and investor within the media and internet industries for over 15 years. He co-founded Qunar.com, China’s largest travel internet company; and Shawei.com, China’s largest sports internet company. Fritz also had senior positions at Netease and The News Corporation.
Edith Yeung General Partner, Proof of Capital
Edith Yeung is a General Partner at Proof of Capital (an early-stage Silicon Valley venture capital fund focused on Blockchain), creator of the China Internet Report and advisor at 500 Startups – the world’s most active early-stage incubator. Recognized by Inc Magazine as one of the Silicon Valley investors you must know, Edith has invested in over 50 blockchain, mobile, AI startups including Lightyear/Stellar, Silk Labs (acquired by Apple), Chirp (acquired by Apple), Fleksy (acquired by Pinterest), Human (acquired by Mapbox) and many more.
Before 500, Edith is the general manager at Dolphin Browser, a Sequoia-backed mobile browser with over 150 million installs worldwide. Edith also worked with many Fortune 500 companies such as Siebel, Oracle, AMS, AT&T Wireless and Autodesk.
Abel Zhao Co-Founder & CEO, TravelFlan
Abel is a co-founders and CEO of TravelFlan an Award-winning AI Digital and Big Data Solutions company, utilizing proprietary Travel and Lifestyle – specific B2B2C strategies and solutions to empower Fortune 500 companies like China Mobile, Samsung, SITA and Lotte Group to create incremental revenue streams and improve customer engagement.
Abel has over 16 years of experience in Travel IT and Consulting industries in strategic planning, turn-around management and Sales & Marketing. Previously he was the regional head in Travelport and Amadeus responsible for commercial and strategic initiatives and local market expansion strategy. He also spent 5 years with Air Canada in Toronto as Corporate Analyst, Global Sales and Strategy responsible for revenue optimization and global strategic expansion and 2 years with Hyatt Corporation in Chicago.
Abel holds Dual – Masters degrees from Columbia University and London Business School, and undergraduate in Hospitality Management in Switzerland.

Shirley has an extensive experience in investments and financial risk management. Besides being a holder of both the CFA and FRM license, Shirley also held leadership roles in various finance-related corporations like CreditEase and Postal Savings Bank of China. She is the ex-Managing Director of PreAngel Partners, a 1 billion RMB fund focused on early stage mobile internet startups. Currently, Shirley is the Executive Director and Head of India Investment in Xiaomi Technology.
Zhang Fan Vice President, EO Company
Zhang Fan, graduated from the Communication University of China, has served for Nielsen, Kantar TNS of WPP in his career life. Years-accumulated analytic experience made him an expert with rich research methodologies.
With research and management experience, Zhang Fan joined EO Company in 2017 as the Senior Research Director and led EO Intelligence, the professional research & consulting institution of EO company, from an embryo to the current reputational intelligence institute in the industry. Under his outstanding leadership, EO Intelligence released a series of industrial research reports with in-depth topics including but not limited to New Technology, New Thinking and New Policy, helping EO Company garner praises from key industry players.
In October 2018, Zhang Fan co-founded the EqualOcean to start the company’s international business.
Sarah Keenlyside Founder & CEO, Bespoke Travel Company
Sarah Keenlyside set up Bespoke Travel Company in 2010 after noticing a gap in the market for flexible customized touring. Bespoke’s clients now include everyone from Apple to the NFL and previous guests have ranged from Matt Damon to Metallica. She was recently nominated for the ‘Most Pioneering Woman in Travel’ Award by the Telegraph Newspaper, and an ‘Inspiring Woman Award’ in the recent British Business Awards.
Jay Liu Ecosystem Partnership Lead, CKGSB Chuang Community
Jay Liu specialises in accelerating the growth of startups. He is experienced in conducting thorough research on the entrepreneurship landscape and educating founders on entrepreneurship management. Jay Liu leads CKGSB Chuang Community to assist entrepreneurs with product design, strategy planning, social media management & other essential operations. He also actively keeps himself updated on the latest technology innovations in fields like artificial intelligence, communication and medical technology tools.
Miranda Tan Founder & CEO, Robin8
Miranda Tan is an expert in PR and marketing, China Influencer and KOL Marketing, as well as the integration of AI and blockchain technology in the digital media industry.
Prior to founding Robin8, Miranda amassed 15 years of experience in PR and marketing. She specialized in public relations and marketing for technology companies, pre-IPO companies, and other companies in states of rapid growth.
Miranda Tan also founded and headed ExcitePR, a US technology public relations agency with offices in New York and San Francisco. In 2001, ExcitePR merged with one of the largest independent technology PR firms in the country at the time. Miranda Tan joined their executive team as Vice President.
Miranda Tan is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English. She has a bachelor of science from Cornell University and a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law.
Guy Sivan Co-founder & CEO, Vericant
In 2005, Guy graduated Summa Cum Laude from Columbia University with a dual Computer Science and Electrical Engineering degree. After graduating, he flew to Hong Kong to raise seed money then went to Beijing to found his first startup. Since then, Guy has been a serial entrepreneur in China building several companies. In 2010, he sold his third startup’s core technology to a publicly listed company. Guy is currently the co-founder of Vericant, a company that helps over 200 US schools better understand their Chinese applicants through on-demand video interviews. Guy is also an advisor for several startups.
Paul Meyers Advisor, Early Stage Investments, ADB Ventures
Paul Meyers is a serial entrepreneur and Asian digital veteran, helping to build Asia’s startup ecosystem over the past 25+ years. Having started and exited a number of his own companies, Paul has deep experience and relationships with founders, investors and accelerators across the region.
Currently an Advisor at ADBVentures, helping to build the Asian Development Bank’s emerging market impact fund, Paul previously ran Telstra’s muru-D early stage accelerator program in Asia. Before that, he was Southeast Asia EIR for SOSV’s MOX – The Mobile Accelerator and has worked as a mentor with Seedstars, GSMA’s M4D, Founder Institute, Singapore Management University, and others.
Olivier d’Arros Founder & Managing Partner, MAVIE Technologies
Olivier started his career in Venture Capital in one of the largest European funds – SGAM, now AMUNDI with trillions of euros under management. He then co-founded 4 technology companies, all in B2B applications. He was the President and CEO of EESYO, a China-based software company developing smart systems embedded in aircraft, automotive and medical devices. He is now Managing Partner at MAVIE Technologies, an investment banking boutique with a focus on cross-border transactions in healthtech and industry 4.0.
Olivier has an MSc. In Mathematics from Ecole Centrale (France), a license in Chinese history from Harvard University and an Executive MBA from CEIBS (China). He speaks 5 languages including Mandarin.
Katherine Lui Founder & CEO, CanCan 看看 – Software + Accountants for cross border businesses
Katherine started her professional life with KPMG in Canada, Hong Kong and Shanghai. During her 12-year tenure with KPMG, she travelled to many cities in China and helped with the IPOs of China Mobile and Sinopec.
In 2005 Katherine co-founded Centerstone Partners, a cross-border private equity firm with offices in the U.S. and China. Later she got her hands dirty via carrying out financial due diligence on over 100 up and coming technology companies. From 2014 to 2016, she was also the acting CFO of Yongche, China’s 3rd largest rental car sharing platform helped grow the company 300 times in size. Inspired by the success of these fast-growing technology companies, Katherine cracked the mystery of being a tech entrepreneur herself and put her many years of financial consulting work’s secrets into her proprietary software – CanCan 看看, which provides automated CFO services to tech/internet companies competing in the Chinese and global landscape.
Ellen Lu Founder & CEO, JQL Music Education
Ellen has had over 15 years of cross-border business development and investment experience. She has also worked for a range of different companies; from Fortune 500 International companies like Allianz and IBM to local Chinese companies and start-ups, especially in the Financial Services and High Tech industries. Ellen possesses rich knowledge and experience in all corporate functions, except for IT Director.
Previously a consultant at McKinsey & Co., Ellen is currently a Managing Partner at KeyStart Capital focusing on Insuretech and Edutech startups. She is also the founder and CEO of JQL Music Education and the Managing Partner and Partner of Nexus Advisory GmBH. Ellen holds an MBA from Wharton Business School and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. She also speaks a little bit of German.
Jayne Goh Co-founder, P.E.T. (Plastic Ecological Transformation)
Jayne is an executive-turned-serial entrepreneur who builds sustainable businesses. She recently founded recycling polyester business P.E.T. and the eco-guesthouse Camphor Tree Valley.
Jayne has a background in marketing. She was Regional Director of Marketing in Greater China and Mongolia at Hilton as well as Senior Manager of Brand Marketing at CTrip.com. During off-hours, she is a mentor at Impact Hub Shanghai assisting social enterprises with their commercial strategy.
Shameen Prashantham Associate Professor of International Business & Strategy, China Europe International Business School (CEIBS)
Dr Shameen Prashantham is an Associate Professor of International Business & Strategy at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai. He previously taught for over a decade at Nottingham University Business School and Glasgow University Business School, after earning his PhD from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, UK.
His research focuses on how new ventures and large multinationals partner with each other – which he refers to as “dancing with gorillas”. He has written extensively on this topic in publications such as California Management Review and MIT Sloan Management, and given talks at various forums around the world including in Accra, Brussels, Guangzhou, London as well as New Mexico where he spoke at the Harvard Business Review Summit. His most recent focus is on how partnering between large and small firms can contribute towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Stephane Monsallier Founder & CEO, SYSTEM in MOTION
A programming enthusiast since the age of 10, Stephane has over 25 years of experience in the IT, consulting and project management industry. He is the founder and CEO of SYSTEM in MOTION, a software solutions company that helps retailers and distributors solve business problems. He is also an accelerator trainer at Entrepreneurs’ Organization, where he helps to empower entrepreneurs with the tools to master their businesses.
Stephane’s experience in the IT and consulting industry include being the Head of International IT at Natixis, Head of Trade Finance Business Analyst Team at BNP Paribus, Disaster Recovery Consultant at Credit Lyonnais and Developer at LineData.
Catherine KangCo-founder & CEO of PhiLab, PhSkin Group
Catherine is a leading professional in the Health and Beauty, Luxury Goods, High-end Service and Retail industry. With more than 20 years of experience in Sales, Marketing and General Management, Catherine has built up a strong expertise in market entry and brand building strategies, customer relationship, in-store experience and government sector negotiations.

Jill Tang is a woman with many traits: serial entrepreneur, community builder and business KOL. She is the co-founder of Ladies Who Tech, China’s first and largest community dedicated to promoting gender diversity and inclusion in STEM industry.
She is also the co-founder and managing partner of Cosmic Venture, which combines lean methodology and proprietary algorithm to assess brands with real time market validation.
In 2016, Jill has been selected as the only female entrepreneur from Shanghai to represent startups in China at global entrepreneurship summit initiated and hosted by President Obama. In the same year, she was nominated as the finalist for 2016 Australia China Young Alumni of the Year.
