Dr. Alex Wang is a serial entrepreneur, an angel investor and an educator with a diverse range of experience in the North America, Asia Pacific, Europe and Africa.

Dr. Wang founded/co-founded 3 venture-backed startups in the US, China and Kenya and served as the Managing Partner of CIV, an early stage venture capital fund focusing on clean energy, mobility and smart agriculture.

Prior to CIV, Dr. Wang was the General Manager of edX (acquired by 2U) for the Greater China Region. edX was the pioneering massive online open course (MOOC) platform founded by MIT and Harvard that has served tens of millions of students from nearly 200 countries.

In his early professional career, Dr. Wang worked at Lucent Technologies, the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

Dr. Wang holds a PhD degree in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Virginia Tech and an MBA degree from MIT Sloan School of Management.
